Mosaicodigitale x SHIMA-SHIMA, Gravina, Italy

Mosaicodigitale is an award-winning resin-tile product, made in Gravina, a town that is near Matera, the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mr Salvatore Pepe, president and owner of Mosaicodigitale, is very enthusiastic about the collaboration between his company and SHIMA-SHIMA. Prototypes of the tiles were shown at the SHIMA-SHIMA show at Isetan this March, after which production samples were shown at Interior LifeStyle Show in June.

Mosaicodigitale can be custom-ordered through Kokura Creation. It is possible to order tiles in any of the SHIMA-SHIMA fabric designs, in any shape and size. Please contact Kokura Creations for details.

Borseggi Event at Serra, Milano

May 10th was a warm and sunny Sunday, and Borseggi participated in an outdoor event at Serra Comunitaria, in the Naviglio area of Milano. There were various organisations that offered foods, plants, paintings, textile-printing activities, as well as live music.

Borseggi sold hand-sewn bags and aprons, that were made by inmates at Opera Prison in Milano. Included in their collection were bags made of SHIMA-SHIMA fabric that Kokura Creation had donated.

Bagatti Valsecchi~ Fuori Orticola Event

On May 9th, Bagatti Valsecchi Museum hosted the Fuori Orticola event, with EXPO Chef-Ambassador Davide Oldani, who spoke about how to use fresh herbs. Borseggi provided hand-sewn bags filled with herb plants. The beautiful 19th century salon was filled with visitors who were interested in learning about Chef Oldani’s thoughts on cooking. In particular, all were surprised to learn that one should use plain water to prepare risotto, not broth !

After the session, everyone wandered around the grand house-museum, to admire the beautiful rooms which have been open to the public since 1994.

Prosecco bags

I decided to design some bags that could be used to carry prosecco bottles. Made of sturdy denim, with pockets in SHIMA-SHIMA fabric, they are perfect for the summer picnics in the countryside.

Of course, they are quite versatile, and can be used as casual shoulder town-bags.
